Right, some of you may have seen my last car, came to quite a few meets with it Smile

Well the scooby is gone now and replaced it with a gay hairdressers car...... Rolling Eyes

The car is a 1991 Mazda Eunos J-Ltd so is pretty rare, as far as im aware there were only 800 ever made, all in this unique colour, and all sold in Japan.

The car was nothing special when i picked it up, some generic wheels fitted, factory fitted Bilstein suspension and a slightly gay style bar...

Then i got my sleepy eye kit fitted

And thought about fitting these

But decided that 17's were too big Sad

So went to the other end of the scale and bought some 14" Advan Racing A3A wheels

Refurbished them, Volkswagon Diamond silver faces, bolts + accents painted metallic gold, dishes polished, tyres fitted:

Got Poke?

Then decided that the stance just wasnt right with these fitted, because of the adaptors. Wheels worked out at 14x7J ET-20

thats a brave choice...a yellow MX5, im sure you will make it work though

the fitment looks ok to me but those wheels are WAY narrow, would look 100000% better if they were wider inwards.

what wheels are you thinking about now?

So started searching for a new set of wheels, and decided to go back to my roots Smile

Throughout all of my modifying life ive never owned a nice set of BBS's, and with a mate thinking about selling his, i made him an offer. 200miles later I was the proud owner of these beauties!

And thats about where i am at the moment. Few more things fitted but i havnt got any pictures yet. Wooden Nardi steering wheel, Dice Didlo gearknob from the scooby, harnesses....

Just bought some coilovers finally, but having a bit of trouble getting them to go lower. Fronts have gone down fine (after removing helper springs) but the rears rub on the driveshaft when i lower it!?!? So removed the helper springs from the rear and lowered them as much as i can without it rubbing on the driveshaft, but its no where near low enough for me Sad

....Garage Vary front lip is in the post aswell Very Happy Should be scraping the floor once fitted!

the rm's will look waaay better man

what you waiting on now? tyres?

can you get a pic of where the shafts rub?

cant you get solid subframe bushes to make sure there is no movement and notch the chasis so the shafts can sit higher up?

Could do with some spacers on the front also:

is it just the adjusters catching and not the springs? if so then cant you just wind them down before fitting?

awaits the reply that makes me look like a noob

The springs are the same diameter as the adjusters so even if i lower the adjusters, the spring will be catching on the driveshaft.

Was thinking about removing the locking collar, bottom of the two, but that would only give about 2-3cm so not really worth the work!

Dont want to damage the adjuster rings or anything because im planning on selling them soon and get some new ones Smile

How about longer high tensile bolts and a couple of washers to space the coilovers further away, just a few mm's would do it

looks tidy though man, deffo some 10-15mm spacers up front, imo the indicators looked better clear but each to there own.

cant wait to see it dropped fully

looks good man

Yeah not keen on the indicators either, but im waiting for a set of intakes to replace them Smile

TBH i cant be arsed messing around with it anymore, spent so many hours messing around with it over last few days so going to give it a rest for now!....as it happens the chassis rails scrape when entering my drive and over all the speedbumps on my way to work, so gonna leave it like this for now Smile

Can get some brand new coilovers for about £200, so as soon as my Advans sell ill be placing an order Smile

Nice to see a thread up, the car looks in top condition. Smile

Shame the Advans didn't suit it but it is looking good now.
