PostSubject: My CC1 Accord   Thu 01 Sep 2011, 9:47 am

Hi all. Thought I'd stick up a project thread for my car, so here it is!

It's a 1993 Honda Accord Coupe - Frost White - 2.0iES Sport Auto.

When I picked it up, it looked like this:

It had no MOT or Tax, but went through the test with no minors at all!

Gave it the obligatory clean and polish, applied some stickers:

Thought I'd have a look at yellow headlights:

Really didn't like them, so straight off!!

Removed the front number plate to clean it up a little, no more horrible plate mount!

Flare and holder sourced for 5 Very Happy

Dashmat:

And Broadview:

Then managed to find some Work VSxx wheels, in need of a refurb but at a good price:

Test fitted:

Refurb started:

found some centre cap stickers in Thailand:

Was lucky enough to find a brand new front bumper for 24 delivered:

And went for the yellow highbeams. Much better than the whole lens.

Tinted Reverse lights:

So here's a couple of shots taken at Sandbanks recently:

I've just bought this Thule Rack and Fairing, always had a soft spot for roof racks:

Got a Thule Dash Tidy to match Very Happy

New Stereo:

Sub and Amp sorted, no more wining and crackling. When I got it the boot was awful, ropey amp bolted to the middle of the floor, and the sub rolling around unrestricted! So got a more discreet amp (20 Brand new :O ) and secured it all down:

Complete with courtesy curtain Very Happy

Much better. Also picked up an OEM BMW First Aid Kit. Fits nicely on the parcel shelf and is the same colour as my trim:

Put some green pinstripes on the standard wheels, highlights them just enough to make them a little more interesting until the Works go on:

Next up got hooked up with a new backbox, straight off a Scooby! Guys down at Trickett Welding did a great job fitting it, with only half an hours notice!

It's pretty loud.

New yellow foglights. Still unsure on these.

Thule Rack showed up today, thanks again to PowellyEG I'm a very happy bunny! I'll let the pics do the talking!

My work VSX are in for a refurb at the moment, polished lips with Tahitian green centres. Just gotta sort tyres before JAE and I'll be like a kid at christmas!!

Now I need to source a new rear bumper, in black (or good enough condition to spray) and vinyl wrap below the bumpstrips all black.

I may have been given a crazy idea too, but I'll keep that under wraps for the time being.

Sorry for the super-update.

Feedback always welcomed!

Tom.

I dont like the foglights as there seems to be too much going on at the front end of your car, nice start though as said loose the exhaust and get them rims on Smile What are the specs of them?

Rims are 17 x 8 et38 all round. I'll probably have the fogs off next time I'm free, Just to see what I think with the plate/rack on now. I agree though, there is rather alot going on.

Sweet Smile i think it will look better without them anyway but its up to you to decide. Where did you get your front number plate from? as i have a 12x6 front plate to rock my fatlace surround with but the plate is too thick so it doesnt slide in to the holder Sad

Id suggest atleast 10mm spacers allround to bring them closer to the arches Smile

That is a 12x6 plate made by a motorfactors store. I had to trim about 3-4mm off to get it in, and even now it's not a perfect fit. If you're not concerned about it being removed, glue it in Wink

Lot's of people hating the bumper, but I love it. It'll surprise a few people when it's two tone the whole way round. Ned, you have PM Wink

Just re-iterating what others have said really, exhaust really ruins the car. Apart from that it looks really nice and clean, I think if you removed the yellow from the headlights the fogs would look better or vice versa really. What did you use for the headlights btw? Any links?

In which way do you feel it is now not original? Or did you mean OEM?

When you first purchased it, it looked fresh.

Lowered + wheels = Yawn. In my opinion.

I don't want my car to look like every lightly modified Honda out there, its a work in progress and my first real project, but I have a clear view in my head of where I want to take it.

If its a marmite car, so be it. I love marmite!

throwing stickers and paint at it doesnt therefore make it 'heavily modified' but whatever, its your car

imo you should get that bumper sprayed asap

Don't misquote me. It's not been painted, and I didn't say it was heavily modified.

I agree with ezza I wouldn't go two tone, the car looked really fresh up until the black bumper, so black all round can for me only make it look worse, makes it look like a poverty spec car with placco bumpers and you have sprayed the middle to match.

I used to share blamed's view on the black bumpers ect untill I started to look at how fresh cars with coloured bumpers looked and had my shuttle colour coded and I aint looked back since
