hey guys and girls heres a quick run over off my car with 1-2 pictures Razz

first of heres the mods iv got on it atm but will be a few more soon

sure iv missed something... it will come to me


heres a few when i brought here and a few progress shots

























decided to finaly get the paint out on my car so sprayed the back matt black looks loads better heres a few pictures of before during and after







also sprayed my fog light covers gloss black rather than them being a dodgy greyish black







also painted underside off the car a bit, cars to low to see it very well unless at a distance or goig up/down a hilll, but i know its there Razz



and got the paint out on my waterbottle! and redid my fusebox cover but still needs another coat











Also as some of you know i went to TDI north a few weeks ago for a new K100 ECU, had it all fitted and mapped, and it came up as peak power increase of 20 BHP taking me to 220, but it threw up that my exhaust was a bit restricive, so iv had that changed and went back to TDI and he put it back on the rollers and had another tweak and its now running 230, but my inlet temp is way to high so losing power. this is down to where my air feed is located, ITG Maxogen, so the CAF is in the wing and my front bumper was sat on the floor when on the rollers so not getting the cold air to it, so on the road should gain a lil but more as the temps will be down,

ill upload my graph at some point, max power as i said is 30 BHP more. but mid range iv gained 40-60 BHP the whole way through the rev range. my Vtec point has been lowered by 1000 or so and my rev limiter upped

so the revs now run more freely and faster and for longer so win win all around its made a huge differnce,

while i was there i also had some poly bush mounts fitted in the car to stop any movment in the engine, they have made a great differnce to the car and the whole car feels much better, only down side to them is now the engine doesnt move the whole car vibrates.

Paul who mapped my car upped my idle by a few 100 revs to counter this and now there is vibrations but not to bad,


on the whole the car feels much faster and better due to the remap and much tighter and better gear changes from the mounts ( MPG has increased aswell when i take it steady)

Very nice and some good power too, I was looking at an EP3 the other day and chatting to the owner and he explained that hes now using a DC5 inlet mani?

should add some more ponies??

Yeah next step is an RBC inlet mani and i should make 250, then it gets expensive cam ITBs turbo S/C etc


happy with the power it has now, and i know i can easily get that bit more,
didnt wanna go from standard to all bolt ons at once cus ill get bored of 250 as quick as i will 230, so would rather know i can get that bit more when i do get bored, before i start thinking expensive mods

gonna be keeping her a few years so wanan slowly build her up

230 is still a good figure for NA, you know what you were saying about the mani getting too hot, have you or are you funning a cold air feed? if so wheres it located?

yeah its in the wing, which is fine when its on the road, but when the front lip is sat on the floor on the dyno its useless haha

im getting a smaller battery at some point and will relocate my air feed to either a foglight whole or some where similar on the front, i cant get there easily at the momeny with out doing big bends which will slow the air to much

Is it definately getting too hot?

if so you could wrap your exhuast mani to help stop heat soak into the engine bay, mugen vented bonnet, better cold air feed (from front bumper maybe) and even box the filter off from the engine with some sheet metal

its only while on the dyno its to hot, at TDI my front lip sits on the floor so no air gets under the car or into the wing, so after a run or two the temps get hot

on the road theres air circulating so its fine,


as above im gonna relocate when i get round to getting a tiny battery, theres not enough room to do a decent one for now,

not with my ITG anyway, but i might just get a gruppe M instead for the extra noise and the intake is mounted above the bonnet on the scuttle,


my itg makes no noise but the exhaust it like 115-120 DB, so i didnt wanna get a gruppe m at the time, but now i want more noise haha

i have a friend who has a DC5, he's running the 2.4 accord inlet on that and that is a bolt on 10bhp on the already higher powered teg, maybe that would be much better for the civic?

RBC inlet mani is pretty much the one to get and yeah about 10-15 bhp after a a decent map

with out a map you would blow car up the A/F would be all over the place,


as i said above some where, im happy with the power now and when i get bored ill get the inlet manifold


if i got the inlet before id still get bored of the extra power in the same time as i would the power it is now,


not in any real rush and im not after huge gains



another reason i didnt get an RBC inlet is becasue im thinking of ITBs and i dont wanna mess about buying and fitting a new inlet mani for a few months only to buy trumpets Twisted Evil

Got my mate out the other day with a decibel meter

Didn't manage to get a drive by but did a few stood still runs

At 3.5k 103.2 db
At 4k 112.3 db ( on launch control/limiter)

I brought one today and did same tests and got

3.5k 103.5db
4k 11.7db ( launch control/limiter)


All tests a meter away 45' angle to the side and 45' angle upwards of the tip,

Really wanna see what it is at 9k Twisted Evil it's so much louder when under load at 4 than It is stood still, so maybe 120 ish :-D


Mugen manifold
Itg maxogen
Decat
Custom 2.5" b pipe
Hks high power back box
Mapped on a K100

Also I brought some black light weight wheel nuts which look great, really set the wheels of with the black centre cap Hs

Not got a picture of them yet tho

its only on springs so cant go any lower atm, the lack off spare wheel and everything in the back doesnt help as its raised it up a bit,

heres one from mimms, looks a bit lower when on the move
