PostSubject: The Rat Wagon ! (Drift Project)   Sat 25 Jun 2011, 5:16 am

Heres my ratty truck (drift project) Very Happy

SPEC :

Engine spec;

- T28
- HD stage 2 chip
- hks 1.2mm metal headgasket
- wiseco forged pistons
- ground/balanced rods
- ported/polished cylinder head
- fmic
- alloy rad
- hks induction
- custom elbow/downpipe/exhaust
- walbro 255lph fuel pump
- colder grade plugs
- custom wiring loom
- custom 1 piece prop
- exedy heavy duty clutch
- stiffer engine mounts

- corbeau bucket seat
- 3 point harness
- boost guage
- 15"x10j et-40 dished chrome rims with 205/50`s, toyos upfront
- flipped balljoints
- 2" lowering block in the rear
- 2 leaf springs removed either side
- extra lock mod
- budweiser bottle opener on the back
- painted in skoda green
- entire truck has a custom loom
- s13 instrument panel
- battery relocation
- washer bottle relocation

Right so had this over a year now i brought it as a project and i didn't except to be working on it as much as i did i've spent a lot of hours on this sorting out problems and it don't really look any different witch is the worst bit all that work and nothing to show for it well...... it does run and drive a hole lot better now but still not good enough Sad

Few problems i've found so far are

- No fuel filter witch ended up blocking the injectors so had to get some more
- Oil breather set up totally wrong so was forcing oil out through the turbo
- FPR not plumb in so not changing fuel pressure when on boost
- Dodgy FPR with was making it run with 0.5 bar less pressure
- Engine timing was out
- Air leaks on inlet manifold
- U bolts not done up properly so rear axle was moving under acceleration and kicking the arse end out witch was scary when do 70 lol
- Prop was hitting body making hole truck vibrate if you went over 40mph
- Directional tyres facing the wrong way

Haven't work on this for a while now but once the MX5 has gone and i've brought something new i will start on this again plans are to convert it to 200sx running gear at the rear so i can run LSD and coilovers witch means i finally get the rear sitting right Smile also going to run electric power steering rack cause its a c*nt to drive at the moment and once thats all done its time to skid it Very Happy oh and i've got loads of body work to sort it its rusty as f**k haha

All comments welcome !

Cheers 2bob

A lot of cutting and welding haha its running leaf springs on the rear at the moment so the turrets and mounting points for the new running gear will need to be made up and welding on a new custom prop going to go for a 2 or 3 peace prop i will be running complete rear running gear so will also have rear discs Smile will start the conversion with standard parts then be upgrading it all so will be able to play with the camber etc just need to get saving lol

Oh and i also won a car cleaning comp thingy did it for shits n giggles and ended up winning haha

candy red would be nice but if you drift it and stuff it into the nearest hard object its gonna be a waste

Cause it wont handle the power dude if you put your foot down properly at the moment the diff makes some rare old noises knocks and bangs and all sorts lol it needs a better diff in it if i want to drift it or even drive it quick plus when i'm doing about 60 in it its sitting about 4500 revs lol i've took it to a few shows and as i'm not near anything and sitting at high revs it costs loads to get there n back thats why i've decided to keep it off the road till i've finished the rear conversion etc

And no to candy red its way to expensive and if i did have it and went it to a cone or something i would cry lol any normal paint colour is cool tho i do like the green but greens unlucky as my mum keeps telling me and shes right i've had 2 green cars and both been a pain in the arse haha so what you reckon ? white maybe ? black ? i really don't know lol
