PostSubject: Milano Red EK    Wed 02 Mar 2011, 6:03 am

Right...

I Bought a little EK about a week ago, 55k on the clock, one lady owner etc etc etc! Natrually it was pink and not red anymore and had a bit of rust on the rear drivers arch but they seemed minorISH for the price i paid etc, its mint inside engines sound etc!

Things Done:

*compounded and polished today, some pink areas aren't restoreable im affraid Sad
*Cleaned inside PROPERLY. not a spec of dirt in there i tell ya!
thats about it at the minute to be fair, havent been able to do much cause of the rain!

Things to do:
*Coilies (ordered, might be a complete nightmare getting them on, cant even go no where to get them fitted as its not taxed or insured)
*BBS RZ's (Think ive found some Laughing Laughing )
*Bumpers will need a respray as there's some nasty laquour peal, may aswell get them smoothed.. if anyones got any red pre facelift bumpers give me a shout tbh...
*Sort out the little bit of rust on the rear arch, *might just put some hamarite on it then stick a big plaster on it.. Literally
*Then exhaust n other little bits n bobs to make it mine...

Pics: (Only one, didnt think to take any untill it was dark so excuse it

Hubcaps and in the air.. Neatooo!!! Embarassed

Not realy lil bouncy but best slam for buck and it only a 1.4 so your not after anything fantastic. I can fit Ebays with my eyes closed. + Spare shocks in my garage too. You should be fine.

It aint too bad! that is the good side though.. other sides abit pink'er.. that pic makes it look slightly pink anyway, thats the real real red side!
Thinking about getting a black bonet boot and gettin' the roof vynled black.. only really want to do it because the boot n bonnet are buggers.. both pink..
Think it'll look different too, COULD look abit chavy though so god knows yet :\ got a quote for 150 for the bonet and roof though so that aint too bad.
Rolling Eyes

But thanks for that!

Lmao okokok i knew it wasnt wise but.. pink for god sake
I cant roll around with a pink bonet to be honest, to make matters worse the boot has had the badges robbed and now were they where is RED n the boots pink, definitely not a good look.

But yeah i got bored so i decided to do a quick photoshop, Notice.. Quick.

Wheyyy... Would like a set of GT3's tbh.. anyone know anyone selling any?

if it was mine, slam it on coilovers, put an SIR lip on, some 15's, something along the lines of SSR Mesh's, and thats about it!

try getting it mopped first, the red should come back to life. or get the kosovans to T-Cut the whole thing for cheap

lol, kosovans, ive worked with alot of them, hate it when they talk amongst themselves in their language. But anyway a good mop will get that puppy back to red, and use a decent wax like auto glym super resin, to seal the paint. Also if you want a platinum kit for you car i have loads for a 5, they consist of Paint sealant wax which is good for a few years, interior protectant which makes your seats waterproof, and a sponge applicator. Showrooms retail these kits at around 150 with any car sold.

to be honest dude going by the photoshop it looks like it will just end up like and average civiclife car, on TOA we try to be different from the rest, if you buy gt3's and put smoothed bumpers on it it will just look like any other red one that about. try and think outside the box with how to style it.

if you wanna go that route then thats fine as its your car an you can do whatever you like to it haha but being the same as everyone else doesnt make it different.

other then the gt3's thats pretty much what jdmkahn's civic looks like.

Oh.. Yeaaaaaaaaaah maybe that er, that ruite isnt for the best then aye.. LOL Rolling Eyes

Other plan of action (cheeper plan of action)

*Get it down obviously

*Bbs's off twiggo on here, (Btw sorry about the late PM! ive PM'd you now.. i fear its to late though)
Get the webs sprayed black leaving the white lip (unsure of this though. white might look neat on its own)

*Some kind of LIP nothing ott like MUGEN.. SiR or something..

*Keep bumper strips and just get both bumpers resprayed and the strips glossed black
(again, not sure.. never seen it done before could look nice though i reckon)

*Black spoiler maybe? (its really pink.. and with the black strips etc a bit of black will look nice..)

pretty much just leave it then.. obviously little bits n bobs to make it mine but they come as they come!

OH! thoughts on rusted bonnets? (DON'T kill me, just a suggestion.)

Lmao na! just yours was a nice clean example lmao, exactly what i want mine to be..

small update though:

* Coilies ordered and should will be here saturday so hopefully they'll be fitted over the weekend,
* BBS RA's (7.5J ET 24) should fit the arches decent.. freshly powdercoated white, i plan to do the inner web a dark grey with red wheel nuts, maybe just black, might space out the back a tad if needed
* Going to go get some primer wet n dry etc and gloss black all my bumper strips and side strips tomorrow aslong as the weather half decent
* Bumpers are going in for respray asap..
*Need to sort out the pinkness and patch of rust

ebay sleeves are good but they will completely trash out the bushes and c.v i dont no if any1 else has experianced this but had to replace mine.

what size are the bbs ra? anythink smaller than 15 is tooo small, i had 16z on my civic but wasnt low enough, 15inch will be perfect for the ek
bumper strips painted gloss black look good aswell i got pic will upload if i find it
u need to sort out the rear arch and u might aswell treat the other side while ur at it

And theyre 15's! ill PM you the link to pistonheads inasec, and yeah i reckon they'll look good, ive never really seen a red ek with gloss bits tbh..
But i no i no, one guy i know is getting me a quote to get that treated

did you used to wheel spin loads? that would of messed up the c.v joints, as for the bush's they wear an tear over time, nearly on every civic of mine they were fucked.
