PostSubject: My EG   Tue 14 Dec 2010, 9:14 am

Thought it was about time I uploaded some pictures and create some sort of build.

I picked it up 8/2010 from a forum member.

From the advert.

Once I had picked the car up there were only two weeks until Japanese Auto Extravaganza.

I didn't want to cut any corners in the project but I didn't have the cash ready to purchase coilovers yet, so I bought these instead.

Height adjustable eBay coilover sleeves, for OEM dampers.

Now I needed a new set of wheels, but I needed to sell my current ones first. A friend let me borrow his Rota Slipstreams while I sorted some out.

Here's how it looked then.

I couldn't lend my friends wheels forever, so I sold my original wheels to my dad.

With a little bit of searching I found these.

First I cleaned them.

Before:

After:

I found a set of Intergra centre caps that fitted and this how they looked finished.

Just in time for JAE!

Some pictures of my car on the stand at the show.

With muchos inspiration from the show, it was time to start spending some big bucks!

A few days later these were dropped on my doorstep. Smile

MeisterR Zeta-R Coilovers

Along with some new shoes.

Rays Engineering Volk TE37, 15" X 7J with Bridgestone Playz tyres.

The outcome.

Sorry for the poor pictures.

Who needs bumpstrips?

Had the day off work today so I set about cleaning up the arches.

Before.

With a clean and some black Hammerite paint.

My old box failed so got a new shiny one!

Take this..

Into this.

Almost all the sound proofing has now gone.

I just need to remove the rest with a wire wheel.

Took out just over 5kg!

Cleaned and then coated in Lithium grease to protect them over the winter months.

Picked up a set of mudguards.

The fronts on.

I didn't manage to get the rears on as I needed some more fittings.

Comments welcome!

This come this morning, all the way from New York.

I noticed it in one of Mac Millers videos and thought it would be ideal to cover a scuff on my front bumper, not to sure now though.

Wow thats really clean... I like the look with no bump strips. Were they just stuck on with glue? I always thought they were clipped on?

Just noticed this thread!

After seeing all the little touches you have made i can now see how crucial they were to make the car look as 'functional' as it does.

love it! I know you'l probably roll your eyes but if you can bring it down an inch, not so its mad tyte slammed y0, but just to fill that little bit extra of teh arch.

Cant wait to see the future of this build thread

Thanks santa

It will be going lower once the weather gets a bit better, I want it to tuck tyre slightly and change to a 50 profile instead of the 55's on currently, but there's loads of meat left atm.

I also want to run a 3" exhaust once the engines swapped ect. so that may restrict the drop.

Look good, done a fair bit since jae!

Though you didnt need to coat your coilovers in Lith, just the exposed threads, even then it will attract grit n shit.

...now slam it! lol.

^^^ i wanted them but he got rid haha

on most eg's the bump strips are clipped on, there not on eg3's, just glued on like he said!

prefer it without them.

Saif, as Cus said I sold the sleeves and scraped the shocks as the sleeves had blown them lol.

Up next is the arches once I've saved some money after the new year, but I keep using my funds on other parts, I nearly had some D2 rear arms but the dude backed out.

I started stripping the blue hatch today and swapped the interior from it into my red hatch.

I didn't change the drivers seat as it was ripped so the old seat is staying until I get myself a nice fixed back Smile
