i always thought this too! maybe i am wrong :S

i know ive seen them on glanza's and my mates colt had them.

ek's musnt have them then.

unless anyone on here has them??

i have a question though, my daiyama coilovers they go low enough but the springs arent preloaded at the height i want them even with the perch ring adjuster all the way up, is this a bad thing? does it make the suspension softer? i dont want a s****y setup you see.

dave - those meister r's, whats the ride like? how soft/hard are they?

and are the springs preloaded? and are they camber adjustable too?

and where did you buy them?

i havent driven on them yet, building the wheels next week and getting tyres, then will set the ride height n take it for a spin.

ek coilovers arent 'camber' adjustable, but i think what you mean is adjustable top mounts. cusco do them. you would have these ontop of your existing coilovers

i got them from mr meister himself, jerrick, hes on civiclife. theres a thread where to purchase them dude. still on offer i think

do you mean when you jack your car up, and the suspension is off load, the spring is uncompressed and can float about? most normal coilovers will do this as there are a much shorter spring than stock

how ive set the mesiterR's is that the perches are in there upmost position(ride height lowest) and the spring height adjuster are in the highest too (ride hight highest), hand tight compressed springs. if you did this it would sit high as hell lol
i can lower it more by the springs adjustment.

ive done this so ive still got the full travel of the shock to try and get the best ride i can, thats why the adjustable perches were designed., and i gues it will cut down on crashing etc... over bumps

so basically dont worry about it, its how most coilovers sit Surprised

yeah so the springs are loose when jacked up.

i havent driven my car with them on yet but i dont want them to be all soft and a pointless buy i want them to be equally as stiff as oem ek9 or bit stiffer.

i have the adjustable perches too, and like yours they are at the lowest setting but the car sits high unless the spring is loose when jacked.

this wont effect the stiffness of the spring or blah blah will it?

well ive got the perches in the lowest setting (screwed all the way up), and the springs set in the highest height setting, which means compressing the springs by tightening the adjustments up. so its purely lowered by the perches.
thats why the springs stay compressed & the wheel stays in the arch when its jacked up

if i was to screw down the height adjustment it would lower it further, and the spring would ofcourse be loose when off-load.

right, ive got the week off work so im gonna spend some time working on this

first thing is to finnish the schmidts, get the rears built back up and get a set of tyres.
they have 2 165/45's on them right now which the stretch is too extreme, so i thought i'd go with 175/45's but they are either rare or they dont make them :-s

so what should i go with? they are 8j wide

I remember looking for 175 45's for my enkeis and they are rare and expensive

If they are show only wheels id go with 165, if you want to daily 195 still looks ok, 185 is rare too

i cant find 175/45's anywhere
the 165/45's on them now, i think i need the stretch to get them to fit, but they look too low pro IMO, making the wheels look too small for the car

maybe 165/50's would look better?
