Hi all,

Been busy working on the 9 over the last 2 weeks.
Stripped all the front hubs, antiroll bar and wishbones off along with the rear trailing arms, lca's and anti roll bar also the fuel tank and a few other bits.
All this so that i could clean the arches and underside ready for a zinc primer and some chassis black, the zinc primer i used was zinc182 anf took 2 litres for 2 coats all over, its really good stuff but also really thick! Tried thinning it with water in a bowl the the paint tin in the bowl but only worked a little, the chassis black also took 2 coats and 2 litres and that stuff is like tar! And once it sets and goes hard its really tough stuff! I chose this over basic underseal due to the fact that stuff never dries fully and dirt and moisture can get trapped in it and petrol/brake fluid will easily remove it where as chassis black is resistant to those sorts of things!

So that took me a good week to do, also had a drive down to aylesbury to pick up 2 new recaro spg's in black which will be fitted once the inaide of the car is painted which will be a few weeks time.

Also regreased all the threads on the suspension and received my extended nuts and new side type r decals

will get more pics up asap

Chassis black was from a place called Brakewell paints in leamore but guessing most trade paint stores will stock it, was 8 a litre i bought 2 litres and did 2 coats all over and still had around a litre left and just gave that to Stokes for 5

The finish is really nice, looks sooo fresh once done and just makes you feel at ease inside knowing that the underneath is as fresh as the what everyone else can see (:

look on Stokes' build thread for the finish on the Chassis black

all the underneath was stripped down cleaned, prepped, primered then painted
all the suspension was stripped cleaned and re greased
extended studs were inserted
tiger sealed the rear trailing arm bushes to stiffen then up a little
all brake pipes were removed and cleaned then fully re bled with dot5.1 fluid
and just a quick mock up of the new winglets i made
Next on the list is seat rails to fit the recaros along with the harnesses and while the seats are out im going to re paint the inside of the car under the carpet
then next month the engine is coming out again for a full freshen up of the block and engine bay with a few extra goodies been thrown in (:

Updates to come

Ok so quick update,

My new tyres came friday so had them fitted yesterday

Ive never had parada spec2's before so thought id give them a try, they are ALOT Quieter than the toyo t1r's, but handling wise i will have to see

Also had an email to say that i may have to wait 24 days for my harnesses to come as they have got to be made in italy!!!

So thats annoying, also i went for black Willans harnesses in the end both 3" shoulder and lap straps. Cant wait for them to come now!

Parada's are good, had them a few years back and loved them, best tyres I've had

Not as bad a marangoni's, and I've recently discovered continentals are sticky as shit in the dry but slippy in wet

Sweet tyres benjina, they seem a softer compound to Toyo proxes 4 i had last, and on track they are even better when they get abit of heat into them.
