Dont do what i did and melt your headlight in the oven, a hairdryer is enough to heat the glue up.

I got my EK9's for 190 btw

Good linjk ezza!!

I would use a hairdryer thought instead of the oven and id rub them down until the chrome is all off.. That what i done.. didnt use high temp paint either as any paint is fine!

It depends what finish you want, im not sure they do high temp gloss, but if its a matt finish your after id go with high temp to be on the safe side, i think if u used high temp you would be ok with just roughing the surface rather than primering (you would need high temp primer anyway)

i used ht primer with a normal satin black spray, was fine, never got hotter then 27c when i tested them and you get air flow overthem when moving to.

First update in quite a while!

Fitted a Jap DC2 lip I just rattle canned it for the minute but as you can see with the car being low the bottom is yellow again lol

Also Fitted OEM Foglights with new surrounds, OEM Wind deflectors and an OEM EK9 gear gaitor.. And a pretty little Hello Kitty Very Happy:D

No close up pics atm cause the front of the car is pretty rough paint wise Sad

Few quick pics i took:

Pretty much the way the car is staying exterior wise apart from a few bits painted to tidy it up

Engine is coming in the summer months

Im not sure what to go for..

Im thinking B16 for the simplicity Maybe that and eventually b20 bottom end?!

Would love to either B18 or H22 it but the moment being a student thats not realistic.

My mate is breaking his vti so i could have everything i need for the swap then possibly ek9 head, skunk2 inlet.. Try and get B16 to 200bhp with it on paper and not just the same as these people with an induction kit and an exhaust who claim 200bhp Razz

Time will tell i suppose. I have everything i need bar an ecu for a y8 head swap so il maybe do that for the mean time

Could do a vtec head swap for now.

I had a B18c4 eg and my B16a EK is more fun to drive id say, not quite as fast but still a blast, b18's are overated, well so are b16's lol but there good!

I noticed the difference between the b16a and b18c (non type r).
B18 was more torquey but not so 'revvy'.
The b16a loves to rev but you need to drive it harder, which is alot more fun! Both have plus points.
To compare:
my eg b16a ran 14.7 1/4 mile
my teg b18c ran 14.2 1/4 mile
both with similar mods

hardly anything in it, on a track it would come down to driver/tyres/weight/brakes

Yea i would definetly prefer a revvy engine than a torquey one. Im used to a d16y7 which aren t quick but if you keep the revs up they go alright.

I think a B16 is the way forward for me with my budget etc
