PostSubject: Ringy's Circuit Civic EK   Sun 03 Jan 2010, 10:27 pm

Hi people, ive decided to re-make my project thread as my first attemt was poor lol so here it goes,
I recently became increasingly bored of owning ford and have always LOVED civics from EF's,EG's and EK's
So i sold my mk5 fiesta zetec s rep and was on the search for a ek civic that i could turn into a fun, usuable b road blaster.
i came across a 1998 1.5 sohc vtec ek civic with full service history and only 54k on the clock, theres a few parking dinks but nothing major,
since owning it i have tinted the rear windows, tilted the spoiler, wind deflectors, gave it a good service with hamp oil filter, NGK spack plugs, NGK ht leads, oil change, CAI (sounds pretty nice lol) and jap plates.
i also spent a whole saturday clay baring, paint renavatoring, polishing and waxing made so much diference from the matt pink when i brough it,
i also gave it a realy good clean as it smelt like a farmers armpit and there was enough hair on and under the seats to make a poodle.
anyway heres some pics

when i first brought it-

and after the mega wash.

since then ive sprayed my standard grill, brought a backbox (old standard one was rotten) added a mugen lip and one or two other bits.
next thing is coilovers and wheels.

i will add a few more pics soon but and comments or critasism or ideas let me know.

Future plans are still abit hazey but what i do know for definate is-
There will be alot or suspension mods (MeisteR,Function7,Beaks,Whiteline)
and a D16 Turbo ,b18 or B20 will be nestleing under the bonnet at some point, still looking into the conversions for pros n cons but time will tell lol. thanks for reading i will update soon.

What are you planning to lower it on? I'v said it before and il say it again, i rate ebay coils for a cheap (like 40) short term alternative till u get money together for a good setup.

And mate dont take anything negative on board off forums, do what u want to, why did u get dissed?

I might need you to sort me out in the future with a pair of front ARB drop links for my EK, how much roughly (pm me if u like)

i should be getting a set of gaz coilovers 2moz lol. i carnt find any reveiws for them on civics though.

Anyone know a good place to get toyo proxes4's ?
never ownd and proxes so ill give em a go

they just said, and i quote lol

"I thought this car had a lot more potential than you have given it, Just in my honest opinion parts seem to be thrown on without any though of what the final outcome will be"

"I think the front end is too over-crowded and black.

With the black bonnet bra, black splitter, black grill, black bumpstrips and the fogs I think it looks OTT."

its abit sad ive pasted it over but still lol

dude i gotta be honest, i was thinkin the same thing as that other person, i know this isnt the finished project but its just little things that you could do to make it look a 100% times better like for instance the screws holding the lip on above the top, it really is little stupid things like that that stand out and make it look shitty, i used to be the same and then i changed and instead of spending 10 minutes fitting somethin i end up spending a few hours just to simply make it look a hole lot better.

i dont want this to sound like im being a dick cuz im not btw haha

I know what you mean, alot of the time a good clean changes the way you look at a car.

But yeah i think a good drop, drop teh bra and tidy bits up and your onto a winner

cool cool, iv thought about taking the lip off and smoothing the 2 holes over n re spraying it, but i dunno if to spray it red or keep it black OR get a SiR lip....hmmm. is there anythink you lads would tidy up other than the screws and bonnet bra???? its had a good clean now lol

Simplest designs are usually the best imo.
Take you avatar for instance. Coupe/ek9 bumper with an sir lip, and some played out TE37's and that thing looks ridiculous, as a whole.

I say lowered, coupe/ek9 front bumper, sir lip, your yellow fogs, ek9/facelift rear bumper, colour coded spoon spoiler, and a little touch, i can see some oem mudflaps looking sick on it.

dave=gok wan of honda's.......girlfriend!

Personally id say keep the bump strips, they look good on red imo, smooth the edm holes in the bumper (either side of the reg), and id go with an SiR lip on that
